Going strapless

From noughties to nice – as the 90s fashion is now officially in our “nice list” it is our duty to spend a few words about Rachel Green/Jennifer Aniston’s favourite piece of clothing: the strapless dress. Together with the tube top, this is the noughties minimal staple par excellence and, with a few new variations (think about Jacquemus cut-out summer vacation version, or Christopher Esber distort strapless dress), this garment is now becoming one of the most sought-after items of the season.

Even more exciting is the wide range of strapless tops that is becoming available out there. What I like the most about a strapless top is that it can be worn on its own, but it can also be layered on top of basic tank tops, t-shirts and shirts, just to give it some more dimension.

Combine it with a pair of soft, oversized trousers, cargo pants, relaxed jeans, a flowy bottom half, such as this Acne asymmetric skirt or the right dress (e.g. this Khaite dress), and you’ll get numerous great new outfits to play around with.
