An unexpected staple: the tie-front top
I’m adding a new piece in my wardorobe that I know I will wear over and over again in so many different outfits. Here’s what I like about the tie-front top: it has an effortless and chic vibe that is so effective. I love the tie-front detail, as it allows you to style it however you want by simply tying and untying the knots. Pair it with jeans, cargo trousers or even a coordinated look, for an impactful vacation moment.
I think I’ve just found my new wardrobe staple.

The
Offbeat look
Following some sort of law of contrasts, this styling technique offers a great way to elevate the typically romantic tie-front top and create a captivating overall look. By juxtaposing baggy cargo trousers, in either denim or techincal fabrics, and giving the ultimate plot-twist with a ballerina shoe, following Allison Bornstein‘s “wrong-shoe theory”, you’ll get yourself that slightly mismatched look that will feel fresh and unexpected.

The
Effortlessly
chic look
Jeans are always a fantastic choice for styling, and when combined with the tie-front top, you know you’ve already achieved a well-done look. To elevate your outfit without going overboard, add some minimal jewellery and cool sandals. This is another example of when how the rule of contrasts can be highly effective.

The
Co-ord look
When it’s made for a co-ord look, the tie-front top makes the perfect summer staple for a beach vacation. This combination always feels comfortable and effortless, yet impactful. Complete with chunky flip-flops and oversized bag. Beautiful.

The
Cool city gal
There is something cool and fun in a tie-front top paired with slightly oversized shorts. It’s unexpected in the most positive way, therefore worth mentioning. It will look great with almost any type of shoe – my favourites are probably minimal sandals and chunky loafers, paired with socks, to give an extra layer of texture.
