Relaxed jeans
Here is something that makes me happy: looks like the fashion gods took a shine to the relaxed denim over the past year, and now this trend, for this coming season, seems to have taken the center stage.
Spotlight on the jeans. This particular garment is heavily leaning towards a looser, longer, less fitted style. Music to my ears and a sight for sore eyes!
Another good news for the relaxed fit lovers (like me) is that this type of jean is very versatile, and there are a lot of great variations available right now, so we can pick the best shape and fit, and make it work with what we already have within our wardrobe. And there are tons of brands out there to pick from. A recent favourite of mine is Raey, which offers quite a wide range of organic cotton, coolly laid-back jeans that I ended up buying in different styles, and wearing almost every day. Great options also come from the true denim experts Citizens of Humanity, Frame and Agolde, as well as luxury brands such as Maison Margiela, Bottega Veneta and Valentino, to name a few.
As mentioned, the choice is extensive and very juicy! Here are a few of my favourites.
And speaking of versatility, the relaxed jeans can be repurposed in different style variations, depending on one’s personal taste, and matching it with the right finishing touches.
Think about styling your favourite jeans with a neutral, loose-fit jersey and a relaxed blazer, for a minimal, never boring look, or elevating your look with a statement heel – my mind goes straight to Amina Muaddi and Mach & Mach – and a cool piece of jewellery. Can you see it? Bellissimo! (In case you were wondering, yes, being Italian I am mentally doing the chef’s kiss as I write)
